Credit Union of New Jersey Foundation awards $5,000 in Scholarship Funds

Credit Union of New Jersey Foundation’s College Scholarship Program is offered annually to members as well as residents in Burlington and Mercer Counties who are getting ready to
begin their college career. Students interested in applying were required to complete an online application. From tech-driven funding for large purchases to an innovative way to save for college, the applicants were challenged to develop a financial product or solution to help high school students.

The two ($2,500) scholarship recipients are Albaro Rivas from Ewing High School and Carly Marie DeSanto from North Warren Regional High School. Albaro will be attending Hofstra University and Carly Marie DeSanto will be attending Minnesota State University Moorhead in the fall.

CUNJ CEO and Foundation Chairman Andrew Jaeger said “Providing college-bound members and their parents with a chance to ease the burden of paying for college allows us to live our mission, which is to help members improve their financial lives. The Scholarship program is in its fifteenth year and we’re extremely proud of the all the bright, talented young members we’ve been able to support over the years. We wish our 2016 recipients the best of luck as they start an exciting new chapter in their lives.”
