It’s always great to have options.
Similar to how an employer can directly deposit an employee’s paycheck straight into their account, you can securely transfer money from a CU of NJ account directly into an account held at another financial institution.
Why would you need to do this? Well, there are any number of reasons.
Here’s an example:
Let’s imagine your significant other is not a CU of NJ member and has a vehicle loan with another financial institution. First of all, we need to talk to them about also joining the credit union and refinancing their vehicle loan with us. But we can discuss that later.
Now, suppose you need to make their auto loan payment for them, and that payment is due now. While Bill Pay is certainly an option, it can also take from several days to a week. A much faster option is our External Transfer service, which allows you to transfer money directly to that auto loan account.
All you need to do is log in to your CU of NJ e-Banking account, click on the “Move Money” tab, then click on “External Transfer,” then “Transfer Between My Accounts.” You’ll need to know the account number and some other information about the account you’re transferring money to, but that’s about it.
Enjoy the freedom to prosper. If you have questions about External Transfers (or refinancing a vehicle loan), feel free to give us a call at 609.538.4061 or 800.538.4061, email us at memberservices@cunj.org, or stop by one of our convenient branch locations.
